1 bongo drum, 1 cymbal, 2 harmonicas, 1 mic, 1 kangal hat and sunglasses. And 1 (maybe 3rd generation) Japanese American guy in his 50's behind it all at my usual Culver City cafe hang out. He "sang" and performed songs that all sounded the same and might have belonged in another era. Lyrics like "for just 1 day, what would you be if you could be anything? i want to be the silversurfer... for just 1 day, just 1 day".
so many points i wanted to laugh at him, but i felt so bad for him. he obviously invited a lot of his friends and family. some were nodding off to sleep. others were talking really loudly. no one really knew when to clap.
so very... umm... interesting.
